Zinc plating in Lexington Kentucky
Zinc plating is the process of covering substrate metals (steel, iron, etc.) with a layer or coating of zinc to protect the substrate from corrosion. Zinc coatings prevent corrosion of protected metal by forming a physical barrier and acting as a sacrificial anode.
Zinc and iron/steel are joined and placed in an electrolyte, in which the zinc becomes the anode and the steel the cathode.In the automotive industry, zinc plating is used as a cost-effective method to protect key components, such as brake calipers, brake pipes and power steering. Many zinc plating processes have been used extensively for heavy electrical transmission components.
CKP offers Rack and Barrel options. We also offer 3 chromates. Clear black and yellow all three of which are trivalent. CKP has two rack zinc plating lines. One is a high volume split rail machine that delivers a 60" x 20" rack every 60 to 90 seconds. Our indexing rack zinc line is one of the largest in Kentucky. Our rack capacity measures 55 inches top to bottom and 85 inches side to side. We can process parts up to 1000lbs. This line has the flexability to run clear, black, yellow or no chromate.
Both barrel lines are automated high volume and offer black, clear, yellow, or no chromate options.
